HOSPICE OFFERING FREE SIX-WEEK LOSS OF A CHILD VIRTUAL BEREAVEMENT SERIES

The loss of a child is not an event but a journey.

Hospice of the Sacred Heart will begin a six-week grief education series that is support based and focused on assisting surviving parents to develop coping skills dealing with thoughts and feelings related to their loss.

“The Monica Project” is named in memory of Monica Patel, a beautiful eight-year-old girl who passed away in 2015 under the care of Hospice of the Sacred Heart. “The Monica Project” is available to families of Hospice of the Sacred Heart patients and is also open to the community.

Groups will be held virtually on Wednesdays beginning May 4th and concluding on June 8th.

The two sessions offered:

1. Parents Who Have Suffered the Loss of an Adult Child (18 years and older)  This group takes place from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

2. Parents Who Have Suffered the Loss of a Young or Adolescent Child (under the age of 18)  This group takes place from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Meetings and materials are free of charge but pre-registration is required by calling 570-706-2400.

Hospice of the Sacred Heart understands the hardest part of losing a child is every day afterwards.  Please consider joining us and learning you are not on this journey alone.
